The British Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan State , Cristopher Trott accompanying by ambassadors of European Union and representatives of TROIKA stood, Wednesday on overall security and humanitarian situations in South Kordufan State , service and development projects and the State government to realize peace and stability . Wali(governor) of South Kordufan State, Dr Eissa Adam Abbakar, who held meeting with the delegation at the State Government's General Secretariat, lauded revocation of sanctions against Sudan and considered it an opportunity for exerting serious endeavors to achieve peace and important step for helping the international organizations provide services to citizens. He reviewed efforts of the State government to achieve peace, provide services and effect development in areas of education, water, electricity and roads, commending roles of international organizations in South Kordufan in this connection.
The British Envoy, on his part, underlined his country support to peace process in Sudan through backing efforts of the AU High-level Implementation Panel (AUHIP), which is chaired by Thabo Mbeki, indicating to resolve of the international community and TROIKA Countries to continue dialogue with the Government of Sudan and the armed movements for reaching peace.
In the same context, the British Ambassador to Sudan, Michel Aron said the visit is good opportunity for UK, European Union and UN to provide support to the South Kordufan State especially after lifting sanctions imposed on Sudan.
