Minister of Intl Cooperation announces allocation of 50 million dollars for state projects
Al-Obied, Jan. 9 (SUNA) - The Minister of International Cooperation Idris Suleiman has announced his ministry's allocation of $ 50 million to each state to support its projects in 2018.
This came at the conclusion of the first meeting of the States' Directors of Development Planning and State-based Focal Points, which was hosted by the North Kordofan State, calling for setting priorities in the design of projects, stressing the need to provide information and data for the State's strategic planning.
The minister touched on the volume of aid Sudan has provided to the aliens, which is estimated at 2 billion dollars a year, calling for the exploitation of foreign aid in accordance with the national priorities.
The Wali governor) of North Kordofan State Ahmed Haroun stressed the need to actively attract and manage the international aid for development to support the country's plans, stressing the role of planning in translating political guidelines into actionable programs, urging conduct of surveys and development of international and national standards and indicators for planning to tighten project implementation.
The of State Minister at the Cabinet, Osman Wash underlined the importance of planning, implementation and follow-up in the country's strategy, adding that the forum came to the country's need for planning and further perfection.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of International Cooperation Al-Tahir Suleiman presented the recommendations of the forum, which focused on enhancement of the capacities of the states in the development planning, follow-up and monitoring as well as tightening foreign aid and activating laws and policies to attract foreign aid for development. At the conclusion of the forum, the Ministry of International Cooperation provided computers to the state-based focal points.
