The Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) has affirmed validity of its circular on real estate financing for the Sudanese working abroad, denying in a press statement on Thursday what had been circulated on stoppage of the circular. The CBOS issued a circular on real estate financing for the Sudanese working abroad at the instructions of the President of the Republic made at meetings on controlling foreign exchange rate according to which the central bank allowed the commercial banks to extend the services. The circular is issued after consultations with the Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad, Sudanese Banks Union and the Housing Fund. CBOS Governor Hazim Abdul-Gadir said the circular comes in response to demands by the Sudanese working abroad, which they made during their last conference held in Khartoum. He pointed out that the move would help in attracting savings and resources of the Sudanese working abroad to boost the national economy.
