Ministry of Minerals, Turkish Fadila Company sign agreement on investment in Kassala marble

Kassala, The Government of Kassala State has signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Minerals represented by the Public Geological Research Corporation and the Turkish Fadila Company for Minerals on investment in the state's marble ore. The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Hashem Ali Salem, Minister of Minerals, Wali Kassala, Adam Adam, Chairman of the Energy and Mining Committee of the National Assembly and a number of officials at the level of the Federal Ministry and the State.  The Director General of Public Geological Research Corporation Mohamed Abufatameh signed on behalf of the ministry, the Chairman of Fadila Company Mohamed Amin Belail for his company and the Minister of Urban Planning and Public Utilities in Kassala State Engineer Mohamed Saeed Mahmoud on behalf of the state.  The signing of the agreement marked the beginning of the indigenization of the marble industry in Ksala, Professor Salim said, adding that 13 out of 40 minerals found in the country have been extracted, expressing appreciation for the Turkish company's cooperation in the manufacture of marble, which represents a breakthrough for new cooperation and investment in precious stones. The minister added that the state of Kassala enjoys ample number of mineral resources, pointing out that it is characterized by the existence of the finest marble in all colors, even that rare in the world. He stressed that the impact of marble manufacturing in the state of Kassala would extend to all the people of Sudan, referring to the possibility of establishing cement factories by benefiting from marble byproducts a matter that support the country's economy by taking advantage of the national resources in the state. He revealed that the ministry started to push the locomotive of the Sudan economy after mobilization of idle mineral potential, praising what he called the tripartite smart partnership among the Ministry of Minerals, State of Kassala and Fadila Company. For his part, the Wali of Kassala State welcomed the visiting delegation from the ministry and the Turkish company, referring to the large mineral wealth in the state from which many parties will benefit including the state of Kassala and the whole of Sudan. He pointed out that the real development in the state, despite the existing agricultural and horticultural resources, started with the signing of this agreement.
