The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning has underlined its support for the public-private partnership projects. The Planning Undersecretary at the Ministry of Finance Abdullah Ibrahim Ali pointed out to the political will to build partnership between the public and private sectors. Addressing the workshop organized by the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with the Mammon Beheiry Training Center and the African Development Bank on the financial analysis of public-private partnership at the Corinthia Hotel, Khartoum Sunday, Ali said that the government has devoted a significant part to the pioneering of the economic sector in Sudan through the national strategic plan, the five-year program and the Interim Poverty Reduction Strategy. He added that the partnership between the public and private sectors remained a top priority and we have been working on the development of partnership documents, policies, institutional framework, partnership projects and partnership law, pointing out that the documents are an essential foundation for encouraging local and foreign investors to enter into partnerships with the public sector. For his part, the Deputy Resident Representative of the African Development Bank in Sudan, referred to the coordination between the Government of Sudan represented in the Ministry of Finance and the African Bank on the issue of public-private partnership. He pointed to the African Bank's concerns in Sudan for its huge potential and investments to stimulate the national economy, stressing the continued support of the African Development Bank for the partnership between the public and private sectors. The Director of the Mammon Beheiry Training Center Professor Makki Shibli explained that the workshop supported the Center in implementing its vision, mission and objectives pertinent to the enhancement of partnership and dialogue between the public and private sectors to achieve the economic and social development in Sudan and the African continent, hoping that the participants benefit more and more from the international experts in enhancing their capabilities in devising, financing and managing the implementation of public-private partnership projects.
