Governor: Over 43, 000 people returned from Chad to Tina, Kornoi and Umbaro Localities

Al-Fasher, May 16(SUNA)-The Governor of North Darfur State, Abdul-Wahid Yousif Ibrahim announced return of over 43 thousand people from Chad to localities of Tina, Kornoi and Umbaro, indicating that the Humanitarian Aid Commission in the Stated assessed the voluntary repatriation for Kawra rea at Kabkabiya Locality and confirmed return of 3,500 families.

"The number of South Sudanese who refuged to the State went beyond 19,000 persons, revealed Abdul-Wahid while was reviewed performance of the government before he State's Legislative Council CHAIRED BY Issa Mohamed Abdalla.

He said humanitarian situations in the State were stable according to indicators of the international standards based on non-existence of hreats to organizations and violations of human rights , disclosing that the rate of access of teams and equipment of humanitarian work to rural area reached 95 percent and rate of access to camps of IDPs and war-affected people reached 100 percent.

The Governor of North Darfur State said the number of foreign organizations operating in the State was 19, 13 UN agencies, and 33 national organizations.

In the same context, the Governor said a memorandum of understanding was signed with Ministry of Welfare and Social Security to implement a broad social security program covering areas of health, water health insurance, and earn of living.

He added that the program targets localities and rural areas as well as "Who Revive It" initiative set to carry out activities related to reduce child and maternal mortality and training midwives.

He said the Ministry of Social Security committed to provide a month financial support to 750 midwives in the State, referring to softy loans for women in rural areas.

Abdul-Wahid stated that a number of homeless and demobilized children had been integrated and that a survey was conducted for 2000 children with special needs at Sartoni camp for more than a thousand at Umbaro locality.
