Ndjamena, May 17 (SUNA)- The Chadian President of the Republic, Idris Deby, has appreciated firmness of Sudanese - Chadian relations, which he described as a model for the strong and progressing relations between nations in the region.
This came when he received Wednesday at the Presidential Palace in Ndjamena the Vice - President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, in presence of a number of Sudanese and Chadian ministers.
In a statement to SUNA after the meeting, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Attal-Mannan Bakhit, has described the meeting between President Deby and the Vice - President as fruitful and conducive to strengthening further the Sudanese - Chadian relations in the political, economic, cultural and educational fields.
He said that the meeting was focused on means for consolidating the economic relations between Khartoum and Ndjamena, especially that much of Chad's importing are arriving via Port-Sudan harbor.
Ambassador Attal-Mannan underlined that President Deby has expressed the desire of Chad to expand the frameworks of its economic cooperation with Sudan through the establishment of more border points toward contributing to reactivation of the movement of commodities between the two countries.
He pointed out that President Idris Deby has appreciated the role being played by President Al-Bashir in realization of peace and stability in Sudan, especially following success of the national dialogue and formation of the national accord government.
He said that the Vice - President has thanked President Deby for his continuous support to the peace process in Sudan, especially in Darfur region.
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs indicated that Hassabo has reiterated Sudan readiness to cooperate with Chad in all domains, especially in the economic, health and cultural fields.
He said that the Vice - President has praised firmness of the relations between Sudan and Chad which have become a model for the strong relations between the African countries.
