The visiting delegation representing the US Department of Agriculture and Commerce met Wednesday with the General Manger (GM) of the Agricultural Bank of Sudan Salahuddin Hassan Ahmed.
The Agricultural Bank of Sudan's General Manager briefed the delegation on the bank and the services it provides and the activities it undertakes as a development bank specialized in the development of the agricultural sector in Sudan through its presence and spread in all regions especially in the rural and less developed communities as well as its services in the field of microfinance aiming at reducing poverty and supporting the youth to create jobs for them to support the national economy.
The Agricultural Bank's GM urged the US delegation to contribute to advancing relations between the bank and the American institutions working in the agricultural sector and the banks to raise the bank's efficiency of the institutional performance, staff training and the technical and technological cooperation in the various fields of agriculture.
For his part, the Head of the American delegation, Michael Franklin talked about the role that the United States can play in bringing agricultural technologies to develop the agricultural sector in Sudan after the total lifting of the economic sanctions on Sudan after getting acquainted with the policies taken by the bank in the financing process and the financing- targeted groups.
The two parties agreed to pursue to promote joint cooperation to achieve the objectives of both parties.
