Khartoum, Oct. 16 (SUNA) – The Director-General of the Ministry of Social Development, Khartoum State, Dr. Mu'tasim Al-Sayed Hashim, has called on the social, psychological researchers and nutrition officers of the house shelters in Dar- Alhimayha for boys, Dar Al-Mustaqbal for girls, and the Elderly House, to search for unconventional solutions for the problems of the shelter houses, and the challenges they face. He urged them to sense responsibility towards these vulnerable sectors, whose care and protection falls primarily on the Ministry of Social Development. During his meeting with them in the Elderly Women’s House, he stressed on the researchers’ work in all environments and withstand the pressure of emergency work. He indicated importance of communication with national and foreign community organizations via the Commission of Voluntary and Humanitarian work, inviting them to participate in all the programs, activities and needs as well as the work with the volunteers, praising the role of supporters and the various bodies of companies and institutions and their continuous positive contributions. Dr. Mutasim has indicated the importance of professional interaction, coordination and cohesion between social researchers, psychologists and nutrition officers, especially after the establishment of the psychological unit and nutrition unit, which includes a number of specialized researchers, and promised to fulfill all commitments and review the performance, procedures and issues related to their role. The meeting has also discussed many important issues, ways of treatment, and the introduction of proposals and observations, the meeting has also emphasized importance of training to achieve goals, and the institutional care such as psychosocial support services, life skills, case management and the designation of tools and forms. ta
