Irrigation Minister visits Toker Delta Agricultural Scheme

Khartoum, May 6 (SUNA )- Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Prof. Yasir Abbas and Wali of Red Sea State Engineer Abdalla Shangharai paid a visit Wednesday to Toker Delta Agricultural Scheme, where they got acquainted with progress of implementation work of the irrigation plan in the scheme. The minister, speaking to farmers of the scheme, affirmed keenness of the government to restore Toker Delta Agricultural Scheme to its golden era. Meanwhile, the Wali pointed out that the coming agricultural season in the scheme targets cultiva-tion of an area of 120,000 feddans. The minister was accompanied during the visit by the Director of Irrigation and Earthmoving Corpora-tion, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Irrigation and a number of specialized engineers. BT/BT
