TSC President Meets Egyptian Ambassador
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, met on Thursday with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Sudan, Hani Salah, in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin.
Ambassador Hani said, in a press statement, that the meeting was characterized by cordiality and positivity, pointing out that he conveyed the greetings of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, to his brother TSC President Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan. He added that General Al-Burhan also requested him to convey his greetings and thanks to President El-Sisi for receiving him in El-Alamein on June 30.
Ambassador Hani Salah said that the meeting discussed the outcomes of El-Alamein Summit, which will have a clear impact on the course of bilateral relations. He explained that he briefed TSC President on developments in relations between the two countries, indicating that the joint ministerial trade committee between the two countries will convene soon, alongside the Egyptian-Sudanese Business Forum.
The Egyptian Ambassador affirmed Egypt's firm and supportive position towards Sudan in all regional and international forums, highlighting Egypt's efforts to support Sudan in various forums.
The Egyptian ambassador said that President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council affirmed Sudan's full support for Egypt on the existential and pivotal issue of the Nile waters for both countries, emphasizing the continuation of coordination between the two countries at the highest levels, and between the foreign and irrigation ministers of the two countries, during the coming period, particularly in light of the developments and movements taking place that may not be in the best interest of both countries. Ambassador Hani Salah added, "We look forward to the convening of a 2+2 mechanism between the foreign and irrigation ministers of the two countries in the coming period."
