TSC Member Dr. Salma Highlights Role of Sudanese Farmers in Achieving Sustainable Development

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Salma Abdel-Jabbar Al-Mubarak, emasized the significant role played by Sudanese farmers – particularly in the rainfed sector – in driving the economy and achieving sustainable development.
During a meeting at her office with the Sudanese Farmers Association representing the rainfed sector, White Nile farmers, and those from the Eastern Region of South Kordofan, Dr. Salma pledged to address all existing challenges and coordinate with relevant authorities on agricultural issues, particularly agricultural financing, farmers’ debts, and the provision of production inputs to ensure a successful winter farming season.
Speaking on behalf of the association, Vice President Garig Kambal said the meeting focused on issues facing rainfed agriculture. He added that Dr. Salma had promised to support the agricultural sector and resolve pending matters, particularly financing for the current winter season and addressing the debts of insolvent farmers.
