TSC Adviser Meets Senior EU Delegation

Adviser to the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) for Organizations and Humanitarian Affairs, Al-Sadig Ismail Mahmoud, met Monday with a senior European Union delegation led by Yacine Hichem Ndakane, Deputy Head of Mission, as both sides moved to restore dialogue and reset relations.
The EU team—joined by Ayoub Lbeissy, Adviser to the EU Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, and Ahmed Al-Tayib, Political Affairs Officer—said the visit aims to reopen communication channels ahead of an expected trip by Special Envoy Bettina Weichert to advance talks on Sudan’s peace file.
EU officials signaled a “new page” in bilateral ties, underscoring the Union’s intent to reassert a leading role in efforts to resolve Sudan’s crisis. They also indicated the EU is considering reopening its mission in Port Sudan or Khartoum in the near term.
Mahmoud welcomed the delegation, affirming Sudanese institutions’ commitment to rebuilding constructive relations in support of peace, stability, and the interests of the Sudanese people.
