Foreign Ministry: Boulos’ Statements Lack Objectivity and Place Him in a Position of Bias

MOFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press statement on Thursday strongly denouncing remarks made by Massad Boulos, adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump on African and Arab affairs, in which he accused the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) of shelling El-Daein Hospital. The Ministry described the allegations as inaccurate and biased, warning that they mislead both domestic and international public opinion and undermine efforts to achieve peace and stability in the country.
In its statement, the Ministry declared: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expresses its profound astonishment and unequivocal condemnation of the statements made by the U.S. adviser on Arab and African affairs, accusing the Sudanese Armed Forces of bombing El-Daein Teaching Hospital without verification or due inquiry into the unfortunate incident. Such assertions have misled public opinion at both the national and international levels and have adversely affected efforts to secure peace and stability in the country.”
The statement further affirmed: “The Ministry underscores that the U.S. adviser’s remarks lack accuracy and objectivity, serving only the agenda of regional sponsors of the terrorist militia. At the same time, they provide the militia with an opportunity to evade accountability for its egregious crimes, including its sustained and systematic targeting of healthcare facilities across the country through shelling and destruction. This campaign has forced more than 60 percent of public and private hospitals and medical centers out of service. Moreover, the militia has deliberately killed medical personnel from various health cadres, executing them alongside patients and their companions, as witnessed by the entire world during the militia’s assault on the Saudi Hospital in El Fasher.”
The Ministry stressed that “the unfounded and indiscriminate assertions repeatedly made by Mr. Massad Boulos remove him from the realm of neutrality and integrity, inflicting serious harm on the prospects for ending the war and achieving peace and stability in Sudan. Such conduct places him in a position of clear bias against the Sudanese Armed Forces, which are fulfilling their sacred duty to safeguard the nation’s national security in strict adherence to international law and international humanitarian law.”
The Ministry concluded its statement by reiterating “the Government of Sudan’s unwavering commitment to the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, particularly medical facilities, and renewing its call upon the international community to support efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in Sudan.”
