 F M Undersecretary meets IGAD Executive Secretary

Ambassador Daffallah Al-Haj Ali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received in his office today, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu , Executive Secretary of IGAD, and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting the country. The Undersecretary renewed the Government of Sudan's welcome to the efforts of the IGAD with regard to addressing the challenges facing the region, and its endeavor to deepen cooperation among the member states in all fields.
IGAD official, on his part, reviewed the outcome of the meetings he held during his current visit to the country. He explained that his meeting with the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, , was fruitful, as he dealt with the current issues in the IGAD region, commending the efforts of Sudan through its presidency of the IGAD and the wisdom with which he dealt with the challenges that the region and the organization are going through. He expressed his happiness with the decision of the State of Eritrea to resume its activities in the organization. The FM Undersecretary affirmed Sudan's keenness to support everything that achieves peace and stability in the region, especially the stability of the situation in the Republic of South Sudan, pointing to the presence of a high-level delegation since yesterday in Juba headed by Lieutenant General Shams al-Din Kabbashi and the membership of the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs, which confirms Sudan's keenness and support to the Republic of South Sudan.
