Prime Minister Stresses Importance of Strengthening Internal Security in Recently Liberated Central States
Prime Minister Kamil Idris has stressed the need for close coordination and proper organization of internal security operations in Khartoum State and the recently liberated central states, where rebel militias were defeated. He explained that this task falls under the responsibility of the police.
The Prime Minister met, at his office in Port Sudan on Sunday, with Interior Minister Lt. Gen. Babiker Samra, and was briefed on the general situation of internal security in Khartoum, Al-Gezira, Sennar, and White Nile states, where he stressed the importance of strengthening security and intensifying police work in these areas to accelerate the process of fully normalizing life after the vanquishment of the terrorist militias.
In press statements, the Interior Minister, said that the Prime Minister affirmed his full support for the Ministry of Interior and the police forces to enable them to perform their duties optimally, stressing his commitment to providing the police with their urgent needs. He explained that the meeting addressed the overall situation in the context of the work of the Ministry of Interior and the police forces, noting that the Prime Minister had provided a set of directives regarding work in the field of security, explaining that these directives would be implemented and acted upon.
