TSC President Receives Phone Call from UN Secretary-General

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has received a phone call from the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres, who welcomed the appointment of Dr. Kamil Idris as Prime Minister.
Guterres affirmed the UN's support for this step toward completing the civilian transition.
During the phone call, General Al-Burhan underscored his commitment to completing the formation of a government of independents that would assume full executive powers. For his part, the UN Secretary-General called for a one-week humanitarian armistice in El-Fashir Locality to support UN efforts and facilitate the delivery of aid to thousands of civilians trapped there. TSC President agreed to this call, stressing the importance of implementing relevant Security Council resolutions.
