TSC President Meets German State Minister at German Federal Foreign Offices

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan affirmed the importance of Germany’s role as a key country in the European Union, noting that it has been one of Sudan’s major supporters over the past decades.
This came during his meeting on Sunday at his office in Port Sudan with the Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Office, Ms. Serap Güler. The meeting discussed the outcomes of her two-day visit to Sudan, during which she met with people affected by the war. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin said that TSC President briefed the visiting official on the developments in Sudan in light of the violations committed by the terrorist Al-Dagalo militia against the state, its institutions, and the Sudanese people. He stressed the importance of Germany’s positive engagement in finding a solution and persuading the militia and its backers to stop the war and end the suffering of the Sudanese people.
In a press statement, the German Minister of State at the German Federal Office said she had also visited Chad, where she held talks with Chadian government officials and met a number of Sudanese refugees along the Sudanese-Chadian border, learning firsthand about the magnitude of their suffering. She noted that during her visit she witnessed the Sudanese people’s genuine desire for peace so that life could return to normal, children could return to schools, and millions of displaced people could go back to their homes. “This war must stop immediately,” she emphasized.
The Minister described the situation in El-Fashir as “extremely dire,” pointing out that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have besieged the city for more than 500 days, attacking facilities, places of worship, and shelter centers. She condemned the RSF’s continued use of gender-based sexual violence as a weapon of war, calling on the militia to lift the siege on El-Fashir immediately and respect international humanitarian law.
Ms. Serap Güler, urged all parties to comply with international humanitarian law, expressing her thanks to TSC President for his efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to displaced persons. She also noted the improvement witnessed in this regard and underscored the importance of the UN’s presence across Sudan to ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance to all areas of the country.
The Minister affirmed her country’s support for all sincere efforts aimed at achieving peace in Sudan and ensuring an inclusive, civilian-led transitional process. She reiterated that Germany and European countries stand by the Sudanese people.
