Prime Minister Heads to Germany Leading Sudan Delegation to 62nd Munich Security Conference

Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris departed Khartoum today, Wednesday, for the Federal Republic of Germany leading Sudan’s delegation to the 62nd Munich Security Conference, scheduled from February 13–15. He was seen off, at Khartoum International Airport, by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Limia Abdel-Ghafar, Minister of Trade and Industry Mohasin Ali Yagoub, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Professor Ahmed Modawi Musa, and several senior government officials.
The conference brings together heads of state and government, foreign ministers, officials from regional and international organizations, security and defence leaders, ambassadors, and experts in international relations and security policy.
The Munich Security Conference will focus on current global challenges and security issues, providing Sudan with an opportunity to explain recent developments in the country, present the Prime Minister’s peace initiative submitted to the UN Security Council last December, and highlight the government’s efforts to restore peace, stability, and a secure environment for citizens’ return.
Prime Minister is accompanied by Minister Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohi-Eddin Salim, Deputy Director-General of the Intelligence Service Lt. Gen. Abbas Mohamed Bakhit, and the Prime Minister’s advisors Nizar Abdullah Mohamed and Ambassador Badr Eldin Al-Jiaifri.
