Sudan Welcomes Growing Global Recognition of Palestine as an Independent Sovereign State
Sudan welcomed the growing international recognition of Palestine as an independent sovereign state, which has so far reached 157 out of 193 countries, representing the overwhelming majority of the international community.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in a statement issued Wednesday, added: “This unified international stance affirms the world’s rejection of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, and condemns the crimes of occupation against the Palestinian people, depriving them of their right to security, freedom, and a dignified safe life.”
The statement said that this recognition of Palestine as an independent sovereign state “reflects international awareness of the dangers posed by the continuation of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories on international and regional peace and stability.”
Sudan reiterated its support for all sincere efforts made by members of the international community to enable the Palestinian people to establish their free and independent state on their national soil, as a legitimate right that cannot be confiscated.
