TSC Vice President Addresses “Day of Gratitude” for Humanitarian Organizations

Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander Malik Agar, affirmed the Government of Sudan’s deep appreciation and gratitude for the substantial efforts and valuable contributions made by humanitarian organizations in delivering services and assistance to the Sudanese people during the war.
Speaking on Saturday in Port Sudan at the “Day of Gratitude” event—organized under the Sudanese Popular Initiative to thank international and regional voluntary organizations, as well as national initiatives, by the Peoples’ Association in coordination with the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC)—Agar reiterated Sudan’s commitment to strengthening and advancing cooperation between the competent authorities and humanitarian organizations. He underscored that such cooperation aims to enable these organizations to effectively discharge their mandates in accordance with laws and international conventions that uphold Sudan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence.
Agar asserted that the Berlin Conference scheduled to be held in Germany later this month runs counter to the will and aspirations of the Sudanese people, stressing that Sudanese issues and their solutions must be determined exclusively by Sudanese stakeholders. He further called for strict neutrality in humanitarian action, grounded in respect for Sudan’s sovereignty, dignity, and national particularities. He pointed out that external interference in the Sudanese war hampers the delivery of humanitarian assistance, reaffirming Sudan’s rejection of externally imposed solutions and stressing that the conflict must be resolved through a genuinely Sudanese-driven process. On the issue of Abyei, His Excellency stated that President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and President of South Sudan would work jointly to address the matter.
The event was also addressed by Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Sudan, Ambassador Mohamed Maa Al-Ainin, who reaffirmed the diplomatic community’s support for strengthening relations with Sudan. In the same vein, Chairman of the Peoples’ Association and Head of the Sudanese Popular Initiative for expressing gratitude to international voluntary organizations and national initiatives, Major General (Ret.) Omar Nimr, conveyed his appreciation to all organizations and countries that extended humanitarian assistance to Sudan during the war.
