Arab League condemns rebel militia attacks on vital facilities in Sudan
Chaired by the representative of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and President of the current session Ambassador Amjad Adaileh, the Council of the League of Arab States, at the level of permanent representatives, heard, in an emergency meeting on Thursday, to a briefing from the Sudanese representative to the League, Ambassador Imad Eddin Mustafa Adawi, on developments in the situation in Sudan following the targeting of a number of vital facilities in the Red Sea and Kassala states. Ambassador Imad Adawi indicated that the targeting affected basic service facilities, including drinking water, energy, electricity, and strategic oil facilities.
The Council condemned the rebel militia attacks on vital facilities in Sudan and directed specialized Arab organizations to provide urgent humanitarian support and assistance in the rehabilitation of damaged facilities. Ambassador Adawi expressed Sudan's appreciation, both government and people, for the honorable positions of Arab countries and their support for the Sudanese people and their national institutions.
