The Republic of Sudan
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Office of the Spokesperson and Media Directorate

MOFA4Press Statement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the condemnations expressed by sisterly and friendly nations, alongside regional and international organizations, in response to the external aggression targeting Sudan through airstrikes on vital civilian infrastructure—including airports and ports, that serve as lifelines for citizens. It is now abundantly clear that this aggression seeks to dismantle the Sudanese state, making the country uninhabitable in an effort to obstruct the return of displaced persons and refugees and to prolong the ongoing conflict. This comes after the Sudanese Armed Forces and allied forces successfully reclaimed the majority of territories once occupied by the terrorist RSF Janjaweed militia.
The Ministry notes with appreciation the emphasis in some statements on the clear external dimension of these attacks, as highlighted by the European Union’s statement. The Ministry also commends the strong stance expressed by the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), which primarily addresses regional security issues, as well as the statement issued by the United States of America.
The Ministry reiterates that these attacks threaten regional security and the safety of navigation in the Red Sea. Therefore, mere condemnatory statements are insufficient; decisive action must be taken against the regional sponsor of the militia, which has been proven to supply the strategic drones and other weapons used in these attacks, as well as the mercenaries operating these drones and actively fighting alongside the RSF militia. The latest report by Amnesty International, supported by field images of the launched projectiles, confirms that their source is the United Arab Emirates.
