TSC Vice-President Meets President Salva Kiir in Juba
Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Malik Agar, arrived Monday in Juba, South Sudan, on an official visit to discuss bilateral relations and ways to enhance prospects for joint cooperation.
He met with President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, where the meeting touched on the latest political and military developments in Sudan, as well as the humanitarian situation and the siege of the resilient city of El-Fashir. Agar stated that he briefed President Salva Kiir on the significant progress made by the armed forces and their continued efforts to eradicate the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
TSC Vice-President added that the meeting also addressed the position of Sudan and international and regional organizations rejecting the formation of the so-called parallel government affiliated with the rebel RSF militia and its political allies. Agar explained that the meeting reviewed the activation of the work of the joint ministerial committees between the two countries, particularly the political and security committees, as well as issues of concern to citizens of both countries, particularly the refugee crisis caused by the war.
TSC Vice-President indicated that he extended an invitation to President Salva Kiir to visit Sudan, where His Excellency expressed his consent, with arrangements to be made through diplomatic channels later.
President of the Republic of South Sudan affirmed his country's commitment to supporting stability in Sudan and continuing cooperation between the two countries.
Meanwhile, TSC Vice President met with his counterpart, Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, Dr. Paul Mel, where the meeting addressed issues of mutual interest, as well as joint economic issues and other topics.
