Al-Burhan: People of Sudan Are Builders of Glory, Great Civilization and Armed Forces
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has said that the Sudanese people are the builders of the glory. They are the same ones who built this great civilization. They are the same ones who built the armed forces and continue to support them.
Addressing the Sudanese people on Thursday from the land of civilizations, congratulating them on the centenary of the founding of the armed forces and the 71st anniversary of its Sudanization, His Excellency added, "I congratulate the officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers of the armed forces on this historic day, which is one of the days of the armed forces and represents glory and civilization for Sudan." His Excellency saluted the Sudanese people, the builders of civilizations and the founders of these forces, whose name is synonymous with defending Sudan. He said that when the Armed Forces were established in 1925, unlike all other armies, they were not named after a king or anyone else. Rather, they were called the Sudan Defense Force, and from there, the determination to build and preserve the history of this nation was unleashed.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces added that in 1954, the first Sudanese commander assumed command of the Armed Forces. These forces are more than 100 years old. Before 1925, they fought as corps and divisions with other armies. However, after the White Flag Revolution in 1924 and the revolution in sisterly Egypt, they were separated and formed under the name Sudan Defense Force.
The various names were derived from Sudanese civilization and history. He added that when they were named the Armed Forces, this was indeed the symbol and name they bear now, fighting alongside the Sudanese people in the Battle of Dignity. General Al-Burhan saluted all Sudanese who have continued to stand by the armed forces, praising the heroes stationed at the frontiers everywhere, especially in El-Fashir, Babanusa, and Kadugli, and at all the mobile forces defending justice and protecting Sudan. He also saluted those who support these forces from all segments of the Sudanese people. He also saluted those stationed there and any Sudanese who supported these forces personally or financially. His Excellency added, "We are proud to belong to this institution, and the Sudanese people are proud of the long history and solidity of their institution."
Al-Burhan reiterated his determination to press ahead with the Battle of Dignity, defeat the rebellion, and reject compromise and reconciliation, no matter the cost. He emphasized, "We will not betray the blood of our people, our sons, and our brothers who sacrificed themselves in defense of Sudan."
