Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris called on the UN Security Council to fully fulfill its duty in halting the crimes and violations committed by the rebel militia against civilians in Kordofan and Darfur. He praised the Security Council's statement issued Wednesday morning rejecting the formation of any government for the militia in Sudan, affirming the country's welcome of the move.
The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and those responsible for foreign relations to intensify diplomatic efforts and follow up on this issue, ensuring that all countries are informed of the facts that confirm what the Sudanese government has been warning about regarding the consequences of overlooking the crimes and violations of the terrorist militia and the danger this poses to stability and peace in the region. Dr. Kamel Idris pointed out the positive aspect that the UN Security Council's position, considering the formation of a parallel government a direct threat to the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan, while the Council emphasizing its commitment to Sudan's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
