Director General of Police Forces Stresses the Need to Develop Thorough Security Plans to Confront Current Challenges
The Director General of Police Forces, General (Police) Khalid Hassan Mohi-Eddin, has stressed the need to develop robust security plans that include integrated scenarios to confront current security challenges, with the participation of all police units and components of the Ministry of Interior. This came during his address to a meeting of the River Nile State Police Command, held Tuesday at the Police Officers' House in Atbara, in the presence of the Director of the General Traffic Directorate, Maj. Gen. (Police) Dr. Sirajuddin Mansour Khalid, and the Director of the River Nile State Police, Maj. Gen. (Police) Salman Mohammed Al-Tayib.
General Hassan commended the ongoing efforts of the River Nile State Police in dealing with the issue of newcomers from war-affected states, describing their performance as distinguished and professional. He announced his support by providing them with vehicles and work supplies in the near future.
For his part, Maj. Gen. (Police) Dr. Sirajuddin Mansour Khalid pointed out that the River Nile State is distinguished by its unique people in various fields, which gives police work there a special social and human dimension.
In the same context, the Director of the River Nile State Police reviewed the details of the criminal and security report, revealing the success of precautionary security plans that resulted in the seizure of more than half a ton of gold during the first half of this year, in addition to the recovery of large quantities of goods and looted items. He also revealed the dismantling of criminal networks involved in smuggling antiquities, weapons, and currency counterfeiting. “Foreigners operating under the cover and sponsorship of terrorist militias were arrested, in addition to a number of sleeper cells and collaborators with these militias.” He continued. Maj. Salman Mohammed Al-Tayib noted that intensive preemptive campaigns and the continuous deployment of patrols had a significant impact on achieving these successes.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Police Forces inaugurated, during his visit to River Nile State, the Maj. Gen. (Police) Salman Mohammed Al-Tayib Emergency and Trauma Complex at the Atbara Police Hospital. He also laid the foundation stone for the General (Police) Khalid Hassan Mohi-Eddin CT and MRI Center, as part of the ongoing efforts of the police commandership to indigenize medical treatment.
