Prime Minister, Iraqi President Stress Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris met Thursday with President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Abdul-Latif Jamal Rashid, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held at the premises of Sudan Permanent Mission to the UN in New York.
The meeting was attended on the Sudanese side by Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism, Khalid Al-Ayesir, alongside several ambassadors and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between Sudan and Iraq.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Sudan’s keenness to develop bilateral relations in a manner that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples, praising Iraq’s supportive positions toward Sudan and its people in various international forums.
The meeting also addressed regional and international developments and underscored the importance of coordination and joint efforts in addressing shared challenges and matters of common concern.
For his part, the Iraqi President reaffirmed his country’s full support for Sudan’s stability and solidarity with its people in achieving peace, progress, and prosperity.
