TSC Member Jabir Directs Supreme Committee to Intensify Efforts for Citizens’ Return to Khartoum State
Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Chairman of f the Supreme Committee for Preparing the Environment for Citizens’ Return to Khartoum State, Lt. Gen. Eng. Ibrahim Jabir, has directed the specialized subcommittees to intensify efforts to complete the remaining tasks in the sectors of electricity, water, health, and environmental sanitation. Chairing the committee’s 10th meeting Sunday, Gen. Ibrahim Jabir called on the Ministry of Finance to expedite the remaining payments related to the electricity sector, in addition to providing electricity to public service sites, police stations, and the new government ministries as part of the first phase projects. He commended the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation for its willingness to cooperate with the government sector to contribute to providing transformers, waste collection equipment, and environmental sanitation tools.
Gen. Jabir further stressed the importance of building Khartoum State’s financial system and adopting electronic collection and payment systems to achieve financial inclusion, praising the efforts of workers in various service sectors as well as the role of media outlets and journalists supporting the nation’s recovery and the return of citizens to their homes.
For his part, Federal Minister of Finance Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, who joined the meeting’s deliberations via Zoom, reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to covering all expenses required by the committees tasked with ensuring a dignified return of Khartoum State citizens.
Meanwhile, the heads of the energy, electricity, health sectors reform, environmental sanitation, water supply, and media committees presented their monthly reports, highlighting significant improvements in the provision of basic services and the recovery of economic sectors.
