TSC Member Jabir Meets Arab League Secretary-General

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir, met with the Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Friday in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. In a press statement, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Hossam Zaki, explained that the meeting touched on developments in Sudan, noting that the two sides shared identical views on all issues. Zaki emphasized that the Arab League has strengthened its diplomatic role by coordinating with the United Nations and the African Union through a tripartite mechanism to stop the war in Sudan.
The Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League revealed consensus on a resolution by the Arab League that supports Sudan's unity and sovereignty over its territory, the preservation of its institutions, and non-interference in its internal affairs, thus strengthening Sudan's position in confronting the challenges it faces. The Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League expressed his hope that the efforts made will lead to peace and stability in the country.
